Daniel Aarcher - go
go
when the cherubs call your name
offering Atlantis
screaming levity
from their thrones atop mountains of sugar
don't go
when gravity repents
for crushing your bones
and offers a plane it let free
where you may float beyond
all heaven knows
don't go
remain
enjoy my sentences
underneath the city
i only have a few
but they hold their worth
and maybe I slither with words
but honesty fears my dwelling place
so
when the golden hour calls your name
begging you to keep it around until the end of time
and she offers you a seat in nostalgia's grand theater
don't go
please

From the Press:
At the core of this body of work is a conversation with leaving. This isn't presented as dramatic, but gentle and persuasive that arrives wrapped in beauty. The imagery used is alluring and vividly entices an understanding as to why someone might be tempted to go.
This body of work is able to firmly stay grounded instead of competing with the idea of heaven or nostalgia. Language isn't a spectacle here, it isn't salvation—it's presence.
