From the Ground Up

yellow flower

The past few months have been full of motion, full of learning, full of laying down roots.

Thistle & Thread didn't begin with a team or a roadmap. It began with a vision and a willingness to build something that felt aligned. What you see here, our publishing services, design offerings, and the soft start of what's to come, has all been formed from the ground up. And I mean that literally.

Alongside forming the business, we've also been breaking ground on our physical garden. My partner and I are growing herbs, vegetables, and healing plants with the same care and intention we bring to our creative work. It's all connected. The labor, the nourishment, the process. It's slow and demanding, but it's rooted in purpose.

None of this would be possible without the patience and support of the people closest to me. My partner has stood beside me through every long night and pivot, and my son remains a constant reason to keep moving forward, even when it's difficult. This post wouldn't feel complete without honoring both of them.

Outside of the business itself, I'm preparing for the release of my own book this August, something that's existed outside the brand for a long time, but is finally ready to take shape in the world. It's been years in the making, and the timing feels right. Like everything else, it's being done intentionally and without compromise.

This blog will serve as a record of it all. Behind-the-scenes notes. Project updates. Honest reflections from someone doing the work with bare hands.

My name is Tyler, and I'm the founder of Thistle & Thread.

I built this space to give voice to the work that often gets passed over, to offer tools, design, and support to others trying to do the same. If you've found your way here, I hope you find something worth returning to.

There's more to come.
